Keep Your Mouth Shut

Message to pastors and other Christians: Just keep your mouth shut

Dear Anonymous,

If pastors and other Christians don’t aggressively oppose a bill now in Congress, in the near future they will be subject to huge fines and prison terms if they say anything negative about homosexuality.

The proposed law would make it a crime to preach on Romans Chapter 1 or I Corinthians Chapter 6. Or even to discuss them in a Sunday School class. If churches and individuals want to keep the government from telling them what they can and cannot preach and teach about homosexuality, they better get involved now!

House bill H.R. 1592" and Senate bill S. 1105 would make negative statements concerning homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by law. This dangerous legislation would take away your freedom of speech and your freedom of religion. Consider what has already happened:

  • A California lawsuit which is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court would make the use of the words “natural family,” “marriage” and “union of a man and a woman” a “hate speech” crime in government workplaces. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs!

  • CNN and The Washington Post both reported that General Peter Pace, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired because he publicly expressed moral opposition to homosexual behavior.

Censorship

NBC blocks emails of those they don't agree with
Dear Chairman Wright,

NBC's bias against Christians is very disturbing. I ask you to end that
bias and stop censoring expressions of God's love in Veggie Tales.
Our society needs desperately to learn more of God's love, not less.
What is it about "God made you special and He loves you very much"
that you find offensive?

Quite frankly, the BIG networks are what has become offensive.
You only put swill on tv. The excuse that you are only "depicting real
life" is a poor excuse. Who in their right minds wants to see the
depressing state of affairs WE have created in our world?

You networks HAD the potential to do some really wonderful things.
You all could have taught and reinforced that bigotry in any form is
hateful and EVIL. That discrimination is wrong and EVIL. That no
matter your skin color, your religion, or your sex; you ARE a valuable
member of the human race.

You could have portrayed minorities in a positive light instead of
the time worn negative portrayals you have favored. i.e. drug
pushing, uneducated, promiscuous, stupid, etc.

Or women as sexual playthings, loose, single parents.

In other words, you COULD have raised the bar and set EXAMPLES
that would be worthy to strive for no matter what your skin color,
religion or sex.

How much better would it be for a minority to see a black or hispanic
male as a responsible, hard working, FAMILY man? Or a woman who
has self respect and morals saving herself for marriage and for a
mate who will take care of her and their young?

Instead, you have become THE 'self-fulfilling' prophecy--dumping
everyone into the garbage dumpster of your view of life.

SHAME on you for this.

Vandalizing the U.S. Capitol

January 29th, 2007

SENATOR ALLARD REQUESTS MEETING WITH CAPITOL POLICE CHIEF MORSE OVER PROTESTER VANDALISM OF U.S. CAPITOL

Wants to Know Why Capitol Police Stood By and Watched Protesters Deface the Capitol

U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.), ranking member of the Legislative Branch subcommittee to the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, today sent a letter to U.S. Capitol Police Chief Phillip Morse requesting a meeting to find out whether Capitol Police were given specific guidance about interfering with anti-war protesters who used spray paint on part of the west front steps of the U.S. Capitol building in front of the Capitol Police.

“I was absolutely dismayed by the vandalism and the blatant disregard for respect of property that occurred at our Nation’s Capitol this weekend. On a day when thousands came to Washington, D.C. to exercise their First Amendment rights, the actions of a select few have tarnished their efforts by defacing the United States Capitol and several other government buildings. I am disgusted by these actions, and lack of efforts to protect public property,” Allard wrote in the letter.

According to recent media reports, the U.S. Capitol Police were given specific instructions to not interfere with, or confront acts of vandalism. “It is my understanding protesters were allowed to spray paint the Capitol steps and deface buildings around the area while Capitol Police were instructed to not arrest anyone engaging in these unlawful acts,” Allard wrote. “I am requesting an immediate meeting with you to discuss the facts surrounding the defacing of our Nation’s Capitol.”

I don't mind people using their freedom of speech. It is after all a very precious right. But I don't believe you have the freedom to vandalize property~~especially, since the cleaning of the property will be coming out of the coffers of our government. Coffers OUR tax dollars keep filled.

Somehow this just doesn't strike me as an expense that was justified.

As for the Capitol Police Chief NOT stopping this....I'd say that characterizes a dereliction of duty and they should ask for his resignation. Personally, I would just fire him. After he personally helped to clean off the graffiti.

NBC does it again!

NBC: Bible Verses In Veggie Tales Offensive, But Not Madonna's Mockery Of The Crucifixion Of Christ

This time NBC censored Bible verses and expressions of Christian love from the children's cartoon Veggie Tales being shown Saturday mornings on NBC. NBC says comments such as "God made you special and He loves you very much" were offensive and censored them from the show.

This will seem a strong statement, and it is: The real reason the religious content is being censored is that the networks are run by people who have an anti-Christian bias. I noticed this anti-Christian bigotry and spoke out against it over 25 years ago. I'm sorry if someone thinks that is too harsh, but I must speak the truth as God leads me to see the truth. Help send one million emails asking NBC to show
Christians the same respect they show other
religions.

Making mockery of the crucifixion of Christ has been a
trademark of Madonna for many years. In 1989 she had
a video for the hit song "Like A Prayer." The video
featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and
Madonna--representing Jesus--freeing a saint from his
sexual repression by seducing him.

This is the same Madonna who once said, "Crucifixes
are sexy because there's a naked man on them."

Kevin Reilly, an executive at NBC, said Madonna considered
the scene mocking the crucifixion of Christ the highlight
of her show.

"We (NBC) viewed it and didn't see it as being inappropriate."
Madonna considers mocking the crucifixion of Jesus the
highlight of her show and NBC agrees.
